Container Handling Equipment
Many devices have been developed for the rapid and economical transhipment of containers.
The smaller aids for transporting and loading containers are container forklifts, reach stackers and forklift trucks.
These machines are equipped with spreaders, which can be used to grip and lift the containers by their corner blocks.
In combined transport, “spoons” are also used on the gripping elements for transferring containers from lorries to railway wagons. The containers are then lifted from below.
